Portugal Rugby Youth Festival 2027
The Portugal Rugby Youth Festival is one of Europe's biggest international youth rugby events. Every Easter, youth teams come to Lisbon from all over the world: across 18 editions, more than 40,000 players and 1,700 teams from over 30 countries have taken part. The 2026 edition had 120 teams, 347 matches and more than 1,900 participants from abroad. The 2027 festival, the 19th, is on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 April at the Estádio Universitário de Lisboa, which is often the home ground of the Portuguese national team. The rugby is played on eight renovated artificial-grass pitches, and the venue is about 5 km from Lisbon airport. It is a Rugby Europe approved event, with international referees. Teams arrive in Lisbon on Friday. Each team plays three matches on Saturday, then play-offs and finals on Sunday, and every team is guaranteed at least four matches. Around the pitches there is a food court, a Coaches' Corner lounge, a fun park, the official store and a medical centre. The package is three nights in Lisbon on half board, in a hostel or bungalow park, a 3-star hotel or a 4-star hotel, with airport and festival transfers, entry, a welcome pack and lunch on both tournament days all included. Lisbon's city tourist tax is not included and may be charged locally.
